Untitled Absrract 8x8 2011

So over the last couple of months I have been painting some more Acrylic Paintings based around the idea of texture.  I create the painting by first using a Acrylic putty that allows me to build a texture on my canvas and using various tools I am able to create a variety of textures.  After the putty has dried then I can begin to paint the canvases and the new applied texture.  I use various colors and technique to create textures with the paint on top of the texture I already created.

This new style of painting I have been doing has given me a new excitement for painting.  One of the hardest struggles I have with art is deciding on want I should actually paint and painting abstract has really allowed me to remove this block.  When I create these painting all I know for sure is what is appealing to the eye, not always  my eye, is the direction I am headed.  Each painting is a journey to reach an outcome.  Where the journey leads and what the outcome is is still unknown.  I feel these painting come from apart of me that I am not aware of and is a great way for me do develop a creative outlet without the stress of deciding what I should paint. So here are some of the painting i have been working on and once I take some better shot of them I will put up the paintings, that I have not sold yet, for sale to the public.

Take a look at the post to see the entire collection and leave some comments please. =)

Maybe you can tell them how textured they actually are, since the images don’t give it justice.
